From sling to sword!

From the Shepherd's Desk, From sling to sword! by Charles Magaiza

Then he took his staff in his hand and chose five smooth stones out of the brook and put them in his shepherd’s [lunch] bag [a whole kid’s skin slung from his shoulder], in his pouch, and his sling was in his hand, and he drew near the Philistine. (1 Samuel 17:40 AMP)

David was not a perfect man but his heart yearned for God. He was quick to repent when he realised that he had sinned against God.

In life there are seasons which if you follow they come with genuine and not fake success. In each season make sure what you do is with perfection and perception. When faced by Goliath, he did not rush himself. He was in a season when he u understood to use a sling. He went by the river side and chose five smooth stones. This process might take some time.

The time you put in preparation determines the result that you get out the action you take. If you preparation is hurried, you might use the wrong stone in your sling and this will result lost time and potential of sitting on the throne.

In the time of success with a sling, use it.
When you qualify for a sword use it. There are no shortcuts in the kingdom of God. Precept upon precept, line upon line and rule upon rule!

From that time of success with a sling, David is promoted to a sword immediately. This was the sword of the giant he slew. When you can’t afford a sword don’t go and steal one, go to the brook and choose your five smooth stones. Follow process and your success will be sure!

I pray for you that the grace that is bestowed upon process becomes part of you. I pray that you avoid short cuts that will lead to short lived glory but you find success at every stage.

Declare this

Thank you Lord for patience and success with the sling. I have received perception to choose the correct stones that will escalate me to greatness. I am grateful that success in the use of a sling is leading to success in the use of a sword in Jesus’ name!
