Hold on to your destiny

From the Shepherd's Desk, Light has come by Charles Magaiza

And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law; but Ruth clave unto her. (Ruth 1:14 KJV)

The story of Ruth is somewhat painful but it ends up with beauty. The family had migrated to Moab where there was a better life. The Moabites were not exactly friends of Israel rather they were at war time after time.

The father and two sons died in Moab. The two young boys had married but for over ten years there were no children.

Ruth was one of the daughters-in-law. She was young and beautiful, excited about the prospects of life. Like her sister-in-law, they were willing to be married to the sons of their supposed enemies, immigrants in their country!

The story begins with a famine in Israel. You need to understand that a famine can happen in your life and it is the decisions you make that will define your outcome.
Naomi the mother decided to return to her homeland. In depression, she felt she went with her hands full but was returning empty.

She asked the daughters in law to move on but Ruth clave to her. She would not go. With her she returned.

Your decisions bring some of the challenges that you face. God does not hate you and His hand does not go against His own. Choose God and He will give you the protection you need.

Naomi was bitter. Bitterness blocks the blessings of God. She was bitter with God which was misplaced. (Mara) means bitterness.

Don’t let bitterness creep into you. Her people wanted to celebrate her return but instead bitterness pushed them away.

I pray that you be delivered from any form of bitterness against man, God, previous employer or employee. Life can be hard but God is your landing space.

Declare this

Lord help me to make the correct decisions in life. Grant me the ability to overcome bitterness and understand that your love never pushes me away. Today I choose to hold on to you and not push your love away.
